Tic Tac Toe — How to Play Never-Lose Strategy
Goal: line up three of your marks in a row, column, or diagonal. With perfect play from both sides the game is a draw — the skill is never losing, and winning when your opponent slips.
The never-lose system
- Take a corner first (or center if you move second and it is open). The opening corner creates the most double-threat opportunities.
- Answer threats immediately. If the opponent has two in a row, block — every advanced line starts with not losing to the obvious.
- Build forks: look for a move that creates two winning lines at once. A fork cannot be blocked — that is how you win against imperfect players.
FAQ
Can anyone win at tic tac toe?
Only against a mistake. Perfect play by both sides is always a draw — the classic result proved by exhaustive analysis.
Corner or center opening?
Center is safest; corner creates more winning chances against fallible opponents — statistically the better opening in casual play.
